Alamo Auto Rental
People who take business trips or personal vacations and
need a car often choose an Alamo auto rental.
Because prolonged trips wear down a car, it may be a good
idea to rent a car for long drives such as to another state. In
some cases, such as during special rental programs for one way
travel, a car rental can be had for only $1 per day. Talk about
a bargain.
In 1974 Alamo opened its doors in Florida. They quickly
recognized that the vacation rental business was under served.
Sunshine plus Disney equaled a large market for car renting.
Alamo pioneered some of the more common car rental concepts of
today. One of these was unlimited mileage rental. When people
are trying to relax they don't want mileage hanging over their
heads. Alamo didn't hesitate to take this into account and come
up with a solution.
Alamo was also one of the first to rent cars from a large
plaza facility. Other car rental companies at the time – 1974,
remember – mostly worked with corporate repeat clients. There
wasn't a lot of walk up traffic. The personal leisure traveler
didn't have the resources or need for pre-made rental plans.
Alamo came up with the speedy, high volume car rental facility
today seen at airports. Mission to get people on their way
faster was accomplished.
Alamo also came up with rental insurance and booking online.
No longer did vacationers have to worry about cracking up the
auto. Alamo started booking reservations on the Internet in
1995. That was a big deal at the time.
But pioneering is only important at the time. One car rental
company is a lot like another. Good prices and good vehicles
count. Alamo certainly has both. An economy car from Alamo can
cost less than $20 per rental day. No other company is any
lower. Alamo has some of the best relationships in the travel
business, so renters can enjoy hotel stays and airline
miles.
Nobody imagined a market for vacation car rentals in 1974.
But now Alamo auto rental is one of the top rental companies in
the world.
